I smile as I watch
Each head bob
My fellow swimmers
One after another
Like a Mexican wave
Over waves
Floating
Arms tangled in seaweed
She starts to pull me in
I love this sense of letting go
Giving myself to the sea
At one with her motion
White horses close enough
To drown out all senses
I am on my feet
I jump too
For joy
Floating, drifting
A short break in surf
Then again they surge
Diving under the crest
Enveloped
In quiet and stillness
Whilst the storm rages above my head
Perhaps a metaphor for life
Notes of swim
Salt on skin
Sand clings
Sound of waves engulf
Then silence under
Jumping
Crashing into me
Nothing else felt in body and mind
When waves hit
Encompassing all
Laughter and joy
Exudes from my whole being
