Bluebell Wood
I am here for me
To take some time
To sit and rest
The trees welcome me
With open branches
I thank them
As I take my place beneath
Their mighty boughs
The Birch calls to me
With it’s silvery bark
And bright green leaves
The sun shines through them
As the breeze has them dancing
Making their own rustling song
I watch the moving dappled shadows
On my pages as I write
Bluebells surround me
Swaying in the breeze
Fighting for place with the wild garlic
Their white heads standing proud
I think of seeing the world for the first time
What that must be like
Thoughts turn to Grace
The love and gratitude I have
To be able to introduce her to the magic
Of our planet
And to witness her awe
I want her to know it
So she can reach out for adventure
And calm
When needed
To know it can always be found
In nature
When I think of a bluebell wood
This is what I imagine
I am sat cacooned within
That perfect image
I see a fairy in my minds eye
He has a bluebell as a hat
Perched on his blond hair
And holds garlic flowerheads
As a gift
I lay down and feel so welcome
My whole body is exhausted
I am invited to rest
I look up through the trees
Watching the light as it changes
I turn my head to see a lilac dragon
Looking back at me
A single flower amongst the waves of bluebells
It's mouth open, with two tufts for ears
A friendly dragon, no fire exists
Though the sun shines through
Inviting an ember
An early purple orchid
Lesser Celedine
Stands out amongst the blue
Shining in yellow glory
I close my eyes
My body sinks into the earth
I am at peace
